Singer-songwriter, producer and digicore pioneer Jane Remover is back with her first official musical release since Revengeseekerz’s album and ♡ the EP in 2025. Though Jane Remover was quiet, listeners were still fed through her various alias releases as Leroy and Venturing earlier this year.
Quiet being an absolute understatement, as the artist has been on a seemingly endless road of touring and festivals for well over a year. “Beauty Sleep” has dropped in the midst of the artist’s continuation of her North American tour, The Live Exhibit, with special guest Dazegxd. The track is accompanied by a music video directed by Brendon Burton.
The music video features Remover as a beautiful alien trapped in a containment chamber. We see her go through a series of experiments before finally escaping on a motorcycle. A clear ode to the reigning theme of The Live Exhibit tour, Jane Remover has spoken on the nature of rising fame and its consequential parasocial disconnect between her, her art and listeners.
The track opens with a soft ambient melody before it is quickly swept away by a crashing, loud drop. True to Remover’s style, this track pulls from her assorted armoire of musical talents. The track is chaotic, dizzying, yet completely controlled.
Make no mistake that the chaos in any Remover track is carefully curated. Melodies are lost then found again throughout the track's four-minute run. The middle of the track seems to almost completely abandon its preceding sonicscape as Remover sustains a long guttural cry that dissipates into an explosion of glitches, cymbal crashes and heavy bass.
The track closes out with a return to its opening. In the music video, Remover escapes on a motorcycle, and we are left with the image of her overlooking the beach. While this return to the beginning may seem predictable, we know Jane Remover is anything but that.
