Chloe Star is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry, one you don't want to miss. Not afraid of putting her feelings out into the world for everyone to hear, one by one, Star is making in-your-face music, but at the same time, with a catchy beat bound to get stuck in your head.
This year, Star has made it a personal goal of hers to release a song a month this year, and “Call You Back” is one of the first to be released. One of many from this year so far, this track is a great example of Star not being afraid to be vulnerable and put her emotions into a song.
A big F you to any ex out there who went out of their way to replace you, not only with someone else, but with someone else who’s just like you in every way, and in Star’s case, a man. For Star, this song is about finding out your ex is dating the same version of you on the outside, almost like a copy and paste, but the only difference being that despite looking the part, he’s not going to put in the same effort. The perfect mix of rage and an upbeat sound to make you want to dance along with the song and yell the lyrics.
With a heavy rock sound, the lyrics make the song. As the song progresses, you feel more and more of the anger and emotion that Star conveys in the song, and exactly how she’s feeling. “I’m just like him/ I dress like him/ But I’ll make your bed/ And I’ll call you back”.
Recently, Star has made a music video to accompany “Call You Back”, and it’s nothing less than a flawless visual for this song. Throughout the video, we follow Star through a crazy journey from being in the back of a cop car to being questioned by investigators. Even going as far as to evade the police by escaping the police car and turning it into a full-blown dance sequence with the cops as backup dancers. We even get to see Star, despite catching her partner cheating on her, getting the final say, and winning at the end of the video.
Not only does the video tell the story of the song, but it also makes us want more. It leaves us with a want of more angry, fiery energy that Star gives to her audience, and with a song a month, Star is giving exactly what her fans want.
